How to Have Multiple Orgasms as Man

Think multiple orgasms are just for women? Not quite. With a little training and body awareness, men can learn to have multiple non-ejaculatory orgasms — meaning orgasms without the usual mess and recovery period.

The Key? Separating Orgasm from Ejaculation

Most of us equate orgasms with ejaculation, but they’re actually two different things.

“The orgasm happens about two to seven seconds before ejaculation,” explains sexologist Ava Cadell, Ph.D. “It involves heightened sensitivity, quickened breathing, and waves of sensation in the genitals.”

Ejaculation, on the other hand, triggers the refractory period — that recovery phase where your body hits pause on any more action. But if you can orgasm without ejaculating, you can skip that recovery time and potentially have more than one climax in a row.

This technique is known as non-ejaculatory multiple orgasm (NEMO), and it takes some practice — mainly through pelvic floor training.

What Non-Ejaculatory Orgasms Feel Like

Let’s set expectations: non-ejaculatory orgasms won’t feel exactly like your usual climax. They’re often less intense, but you can have several in one session — which some guys actually prefer.

“They’re not as strong, but some men enjoy having multiple smaller orgasms instead of just one intense one,” says Dr. Jonathan Stegall of the Center for Advanced Medicine.

Want to Try It? Start Here

1. Strengthen Your Pelvic Floor (PC Muscles)

Learning to control ejaculation starts with building up your pubococcygeus (PC) muscle — the one you use to stop peeing midstream.

Sexologist Yvonne K. Fulbright, Ph.D., recommends daily Kegel exercises to train those muscles. Try squeezing and holding that muscle for 10 seconds, then release — you can do it while sitting in traffic or watching TV.

A strong pelvic floor helps you separate orgasm from ejaculation, giving you a shot at back-to-back climaxes.

2. Switch Up Your Positions

Need help delaying the big finish? Try switching positions during sex. It can help you stay mentally and physically in control.

Sex therapist Jane Greer suggests trying positions where you have more control:
“Try having sex with her sitting in a chair, while you’re standing over her. It gives you better control, and you can tighten your pelvic muscles right before ejaculation to delay or redirect it.”

3. Check Your Testosterone Levels

If you’re more interested in shortening your refractory period (or just want stronger orgasms), healthy testosterone levels make a big difference.

“Low T isn’t just an issue for older guys — I see it in plenty of men in their 20s to 40s,” says Stegall. Even if you don’t feel “off,” it’s worth getting your levels tested.

Symptoms of low testosterone can include:

  • Low libido
  • Fatigue
  • Brain fog
  • Trouble gaining muscle
  • Weight gain
  • Mild depression

If any of that sounds familiar, talk to a doctor who specializes in hormone health.

To boost T naturally:

  • Eat more protein and healthy fats
  • Get 7–8 hours of sleep
  • Lift weights regularly

Bottom Line

Having multiple orgasms as a guy is possible — but it takes some patience, practice, and muscle control. Focus on your pelvic floor, learn to separate orgasm from ejaculation, and keep your hormones in check.

You might be surprised what your body’s capable of when you learn to take control of it.
