I’ve Tried Dozens of Workout Leggings and the Best Ones Cost Under $20

A few months ago, I ran my first 10-K. You’ll never guess what I wore.

In college, I bought Old Navy leggings because they were cheap. Now I get to test a bunch of brands, some of which are pretty nice, and really expensive.
But when it comes time for a hard workout, I want my Old Navy leggings. I wear them running, cycling, boxing, playing soccer, and doing yoga. I’m not the only one who swears by them: my coworkers at Women’s Health also think leggings from Old Navy rock.

And right now, you can snag pairs for less than $20 because the whole Old Navy online store is 40% off.

So why is this brand my favorite? Because they don’t sag while I run, do squats, or play soccer—they’re actually made for high-impact activities.

You don’t need a lot of equipment—or any at all—to get fit. Check out these 19 bodyweight exercises:

Plus, the blend of polyester and spandex material isn’t see through and it wicks sweat. The waistband holds my tummy in, the flat-lock seams prevent chafing, and they come in cool designs, at perfect lengths, with clever additions like pockets and reflective accents. In fact, the pair I’m eyeing right now has a side pocket and a chafe-free mesh design that will set me back only $19.70.

Hip, boutique leggings have their place. When I’m feeling super bold, I wear this Terez pair decorated with Black Tap milkshakes and unicorns. But Old Navy leggings have my heart (and all my sports).
