How I Lost 70 Pounds

Fit-fluencer Chinae Alexander (@chinaealexander) drops truth bombs about her fitness journey (she lost 70 pounds and gained serious strength) to her 132,000 followers daily. But her biggest fan since day one? Herself. To be your own pep squad…

1. THINK IN VERBS.

“We rely on adjectives for motivation, but the most powerful words are ones that incite action,” she says. Rather than, I want to be… fit, toned, think: I want to… crush, radiate. (Torch fat, get fit, and look and feel great with Women’s Health’s All in 18 DVD!)

2. SQUASH SELF-DOUBT.

On bummer days, stick to workouts you know you do well. “Frustration and negativity can build quickly when you’re trying to get the hang of a new activity.”

3. WEAR A POWER OUTFIT.

It’s as close to an alter ego as you can get. “When you put on clothes you love or fresh kicks, you want to step it up and embody the confidence they give you. I like orange and red.”
