Here’s a simple and natural homemade body wash recipe you can try out! It’s gentle on your skin, easy to make, and uses basic ingredients.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup liquid Castile soap (a gentle, vegetable-based soap)
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (moisturizes and nourishes the skin)
- 1/4 cup raw honey (adds moisture and has antibacterial properties)
- 10-15 drops essential oil (optional, for fragrance – lavender, tea tree, or citrus oils are great choices)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin (optional, adds extra moisture and gives a thicker texture)
Instructions:
- Mix the Base: In a clean bowl or measuring cup, combine the liquid Castile soap and coconut oil. Stir them together until the coconut oil is fully blended in. If the coconut oil is solid, you can warm it slightly to make it easier to mix.
- Add Moisture and Benefits: Add the honey and vegetable glycerin, if using. Mix well. Honey will help hydrate and soothe the skin, while glycerin will lock in moisture.
- Essential Oils: Drop in your chosen essential oils and stir to combine. Choose oils based on your skin’s needs (lavender is calming, tea tree has antimicrobial properties, and citrus oils give a refreshing scent).
- Bottle Up: Pour the body wash into a pump bottle or any other container you prefer. If the coconut oil solidifies in cooler weather, you can warm it up before use.
Usage:
- Shake before each use, especially if coconut oil hardens.
- Apply to a loofah or sponge, lather up, and enjoy your homemade body wash!
